Weak understanding of Chemical Engineering students related to legal issues and contracts needs to get attention in the education / curriculum that currently exists. To bridge this and also input from several Chemical Engineering ITB alumni, on Friday, March 13, 2020, in the Pre-Design Chemical Plant and Chemical Project Management courses, a discussion was presented by Mr. Setyo Budi, Senior Head of Contract Management of PT. Industrial Engineering to provide guest lectures related to Legal and Contracting issues in Factory Construction Projects. Some of the material presented included: the importance / position of the contract in the construction of the factory and its legal strength, the role of the process engineer in making the contract, the importance of understanding the contract / law in the design and construction, and how to arrange the contract.
